Does
advertising on the CSD really work?
Some companies
have very good results with advertising on The Cleaning Service Directory and
some don't. Usually the companies that have good results are ones that keep
their listing near the top of the page by increasing their bid points (as shown
on the right side of your listing under the membership date). Companies that
cancel their listing, usually cancel within 2-3 months, not nearly enough time
to get a good idea of the possible results (slow times for all businesses in the
cleaning industry may be occurring and their listing may not have even been
picked up by search engines). Some companies that cancel, usually state that
they only got 1 or 2 new clients, which is the wrong approach. If you get one
new client (even just one a year), add it up over the coarse of a year and
compare it to what is being spent on The Cleaning Service Directory advertising
and you will clearly see the advertising paid for itself many times. On the
other hand, if you do not get a good response from your ad, you may want to try
making some changes to your ad, includes areas that you service and offer
discounts before you cancel your ad
We have also had
many companies tell us they wouldn't be in business if it wasn't for The
Cleaning Service Directory. But this is not typical, and we certainly would not
expect everyone to have the same results. Many of these companies were very
active with their listing, keeping it near the top of the page, making changes
to their listing until they found what works, coupons, free offers, etc. Many of
them also joined our forum and posted good quality articles and linked to their
listing on The Cleaning Service Directory or their website from these articles.
If you have a
website and become a Link Partner, The Cleaning Service Directory will provide a
powerful link to your website, pushing your own website higher on search engines
and you will get new clients that way. There really is no effective way of
measuring the amount of clients you get this way.
At the very
least (and this is often forgotten), when advertising, you are also looking for
name recognition. Keep your name out there, the more people see it, the more
likely they will be to call you when they need you.

Please keep in mind that the Cleaning Service Directory adds every listing
manually (we are "Human Edited").
Basic Members will appear within 5-7 business days in most cases, but please give us 8
working days as sometimes we have heavy traffic to the site which makes it hard
to keep up with the demand. If you purchased a Premier Membership, your listing
will be included within 72
hours. A Premier Membership will also
place your listing in the "Premier Member" section at the top of the state's
page you chose.
In order to keep the Directory free of advertising "pop-up" windows and other
types of advertising that interferes with the operation of the Directory, keep the content on the site accurate, up-to-date, be able to
manually review each and every listing, and be sure false listings are not
submitted, we need to charge a small fee. No other
advertising reaches so many customers! The Directory is MUCH cheaper than even a
classified ad! And we are constantly working to bring in more visitors to our
directory. We're sure you will find our service outstanding!

Do I have to put a
link to the CSD on my website?
NO, you only need to put a link on your website to the CSD id you want the
CSD to link to your site from your listing. There is no charge for this service,
but we do ask that you give us a link from the same page that we are linking to
on your site. We require this reciprocal link because selling links is seen as a
form of abuse by many search engines, which can hurt your website's search
engine ranking, and ours.

All memberships are now automatically charged every month,
so there is no need to remember to renew your listing. If for some reason your
listing was cancelled and you didn't want your listing cancelled, please see the
next question below.
If your membership was cancelled but you did not cancel
your listing yourself, it may be due to a change of credit card information, an
expired credit card, or a declined charge when your automated membership payment

How do I find a cleaning
service?
Go to our Home Page and choose a Country to find a cleaning service. The USA
is divided by states, other countries have not yet been separated by regions.
Click on the desired choice and search for a cleaning company in your area.

How do I contact a
cleaning service?
There are 3 ways to contact a cleaning service: E-mail, Phone, and by
visiting their Web site. Some services don't have an E-mail function, or a web
site. One form of contact is mandatory to be listed on the directory. At the
very least, most companies will have a phone number listed.
If you find that a cleaning service cannot be reached by any method listed,
please let us know with an
e-mail.
Tell us the state or country where they are listed and the business name and we
will address the issue on our end.

Why did The Cleaning Service Directory add a bidding system to
rank it's members?
As of 3/1/04, the Cleaning Service Directory changed the way it ranks it's
members due to many reasons. The most important reason was from feedback from
it's advertisers. Many advertisers didn't feel it was fair to rank other members
higher just because their name started with a particular letter and wanted more
ways to increase their exposure.... And we responded. If you ever have an idea
for the directory, please be sure to let us know, as we take feedback very
seriously and ALL feedback sent to us is read.
The Cleaning Service Directory was also getting many listing change requests
with advertisers attempting to place an "A" in front of their listing's title
for no other reason than to bring their listing closer to the top. This has been
draining our resources, and we try hard to keep our cost low for everyone, so
this was the only reasonable way to solve the problem that would be fair to
everyone.
Another reason is that we have been getting many complaints from people seeking
cleaning services that some advertisers are not responsive to their contact
efforts. We have found that the majority of the people visiting the Cleaning
Service Directory looking for cleaning services are starting at the top of the
page, and contacting services down the page We felt that if some of our advertisers were more pro-active in their listing's
placement and wanted their listing closer to the top, that they would also be
more likely to respond to people who contact them about their services.
All in all, we feel that we are increasing the overall quality of the
directory.
How do I
cancel my membership?
If you would like to cancel your membership there are a couple very important
things to remember. If you are not getting the response you expected from your
ad, please contact us and ask for help. Let us know
that you are having trouble so we can work on the problem for you. Sometimes a
simple adjustment in your ad will make all the difference. Another thing to keep
in mind is that it can take a few months for search engines to pick up your
listing on our site, so that can delay the benefits of your ad. Also, if your
listing includes a link to your website, having a link from our directory will
help your website perform better on search engines. Links are always provided at
